For all those A500 mini owners out there, we can confirm that Amiga Game Selector v2.1 has been released!
Created by the legend himself, Paul Vince – AGS is a dedicated Workbench environment that supports the A500 mini, Raspberry Pi and WinUAE. This latest version features over 5000 WHDLoad games, demos and magazines.
This latest update is mainly a “bug fix and tweak of v2.0” which we found to be only of the most feature-rich and complete A500 mini software packages available.
Note-worthy improvements include
- Over 300 extra games with 20 new ones added. Notable additional game inclusions Nemac IV, Tapper, Galaxian 500., Inherit the Earth, TFX AGA (New Build), Ultraviolent Worlds AGA
- Various Workbench tweaks and updates
- 70 24-bit Workbench backdrops
- A whole host of game errors fixed
- There’s one new theme for Dave McCormick
- Music is now available in the AGS launcher
Most importantly we now have our very own game selector theme! Very fancy!
How to download AGS?
Full download links can be found on the AGS facebook page
Get your pre-installed AGS v2 USB stick from Retro32
This service is ONLY for those people who lack the skills to write the files on a USB stick. We’d prefer everyone to be able to create a USB stick yourself but we understand that it’s not always possible. Instructions for installation are freely available. Note that this is an “official” AGS writing service that has been approved by the creator. A proportion of the sale is given to Paul to help ongoing development of his amazing project and also keep him in coffee.
Hi, I am asking for advice. How to configure the “Kickstarts” for AGS_Mini_v22 ? I’m asking because all games from the “Extra games” directory don’t work.
The kickstart files must be names as above or WHDLoad will not detect them. I
have included the necessary .PAT and .RTB files.
If you own the A500 mini, you can source the kickstarts from a USB drive that
has an older version of AGS or your WHDLoad games on it. The files are located
in the THEA500 -> whdboot -> save-data -> Kickstarts. As I said above, all you
need to do is copy the files into the SHARED/Kickstarts folder and AGS will
automatically install them.
Best Regards
Adam
